Spawning in South Florida in 2017, Absolvers brief yet bold existence has already yielded 3 formidable releases and a small but diverse following. The bands unique sound is a forward thinking combination of black, death and doom metal mixed with industrial, ambient, and experimental music. At the heart of the band, leading to its soulless sound, the band forgoes a drummer in favor of a producer – allowing the flexibility and wide spectrum of electronic music to be approached in a more “metal” way. Between its harsh, post apocalyptic machine beats and electronics, the familiar wailings and wall of sound approach of modern metal ebb and flow between the familiar and the uncomfortable. Appealing to metalheads, producers, and electronic-music lovers, Absolvers unique approach to heavy music allows a natural flow between horrific and beautiful, grinding and meditative.
Their performances feature zero external light, aside from candles and the machine-syncd horrific stark black and white projections enveloping the band; each moment tiptoeing the line of surreal overstimulation.
Poised at a unique point in their development, Absolver is currently working on a 17-minute short-film to accompany their new EP “Self Offering”. This EP follows the 1st 45-minute release “Oscillate Thy Tongue (and Howl at the Sun)”, and the 22-minute, half song, half remix EP “Ashen Ritual”. The new Self Offering EP is planned for a mid-October release date, depending on the videos production.
